The hospital has prepared a plan for expansion of the facilities to deal with all sorts of problems, including the shortage of beds, parking woes. “We have sent a proposal to the state government for the construction of IPD tower on 12,000 square feet area. The building will be ground plus nine-storey building and three floors in the basement for parking. The new IPD tower will add 400 more beds to the existing 900 beds capacity,” said Dr Kailash Meena, medical superintendent, J K Lon Hospital.
Dr Meena said they are constantly working for expansion of the healthcare services in the hospital. “Earlier, there were 800 beds in the hospital. We have added 100 more beds. It is the biggest child specialty hospital in the state with patients coming not only from Rajasthan but also from the neighbouring states,” he said.
Meena said that 30 beds for neonatal ICU and 30 beds for paediatric ICU have been added. Besides, for the benefit of the patients, drug distribution counters have been opened on second and third floor as well.
“Out of 900 beds, 450 beds are in ICUs and among those ICU beds, we have 250 beds equipped with ventilators, which makes the hospital well equipped in critical care services,” he said.
