Pwds: Admin Told To Ease Pwds’ Temple Visits | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The court of the commissioner for specially-abled persons has issued an order directing the Devasthan department, district collectors and SPs of all the districts to ensure special and proper arrangements for the transportation of persons with disabilities (PwDs) from railway and bus stations to temples in their respective districts.
They have also been asked to create a separate line for specially-abled persons at least one km ahead of the temples for their darshan during fairs and special occasions when there is rush of visitors.
“The district collector and district transport officers shall ensure special and proper arrangements for transportation of specially-abled persons from railway/bus station to the temple so that they face no hindrance in reaching the temple. E-rickshaw, auto or tempo etc. can be deputed for this purpose,” said Uma Shankar Sharma, state commissioner for specially-abled persons, in his order issued earlier this month.
The order further stated, “Mandir committees may depute volunteers/help desks to help specially-abled persons and ensure proper signages.”
