Quality Of Life: Barmer Dist Reports Around Half Of State’s Malaria Cases | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Half of the state’s malaria cases are reported from Barmer this season. The state reported 1,927 malaria cases in 2023 (from January 1 to October 23), of which 948 were reported from Barmer.
A health department official said that in most of the districts, the prevalence of malaria has taken a dip, but in Barmer, the situation is not the same.Cases of malaria are being reported continuously but it has increased during monsoon and post-monsoon. In Jaisalmer, 182 persons have tested positive for the disease.
Till July, 711 persons tested positive for malaria in past three months, it has more than doubled. In Jaipur, 39 persons tested positive for malaria, but, in Jaipur, the prevalence of dengue is quite high in comparison to other districts. Out of 9,748 dengue cases reported this year till October 23 in the state, 1,657 were tested positive in Jaipur. TNN

Fishermen have been warned to avoid certain areas during specific dates. The system is expected to move west-northwestward and may intensify into a depression over the central Arabian Sea around October 21. Another low-pressure system is also expected to form in the Bay of Bengal.
