Quality Of Life: Cm Should Tell How Vaibhav Converted Hotel Shares From ₹100 To ₹29,500: Min | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Friday said that instead of criticising the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for summoning his son, chief minister Ashok Gehlot should disclose the formula followed by Vaibhav Gehlot for converting shares of a hotel from Rs 100 to Rs 29,500.
“Imagine one Triton Hotel share purchased at Rs 100 and sold it to a company based in Mauritius within one year at Rs 29,500.The money rebooted to India was equivalent to 2.5 lakh shares for Rs 29,500, which is a windfall gain made by Gehlot’s son. It is to be remembered that hotel never existed, and prices were gained only on paper,” said the minister in an exclusive conversation with TOI.
He reiterated that the defamation case against Gehlot would be dropped if he apologises for dragging the name of my beloved mother into the controversy and false allegations levelled against me.
Shekhawat said that from 1993 to 2013, he was not active in mainstream politics, even after winning the presidency of the Jai Narain Vyas University Students Union.
“I was told in December 2013 to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Jodhpur in 2014. If they had asked me to go to the border areas to strengthen the party, I would have walked to the border without thinking for a second. I find no reason for the party leaders not to accept candidates and publicly take a stand against them,” said Shekhawat. Recalling his commitment to the party, which he says should be a manual for budding leaders, Shekhawat said, “I won the post of president by a record margin in 1992–93. The students’ leaders generally plan their political careers after winning union polls, even in their constituencies. I had ample opportunities in the political sphere due to my background. But my mentors then decided that I should take the party’s ideology and evoke a sense of nationalism in the border areas of the state. It was then a challenge that I had successfully achieved. During the 20 years, I didn’t ask for anything and worked until asked to contest polls in 2013-14.”
Replying to a question on whether he will contest polls against CM Gehlot from Sardarpura (Jodhpur), he said, “I am a party worker who has learned to follow the commands without any question. But I can assure you that the contest in CM Gehlot’s bastion is going to be electrifying.”
He said that except for Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena, none of the six MPs ever asked to contest assembly polls while clarifying that fielding MPs is part of a tried and tested formula by the BJP. So far, the BJP’s poll strategy is focused on issues like corruption, crime, and appeasement politics. Why are the party leaders not speaking their minds about development for the people?
He replied, “The issues being raised concern every one of the states. The party’s manifesto is being prepared, which will cater to all. The schemes of PM Modi are already providing relief to the people.”
