Jaipur: The syndicate body of Rajasthan University on Tuesday, during a special meeting, decided to give a no objection certificate (NOC) to 80 teachers and one non-teaching staff to contest in the upcoming assembly elections. Professor Alpana Kateja, vice-chancellor of the university said, “As the University Act allows its staff to contest in elections and engage in political activities, a special meeting of the syndicate was called where 80 teachers of the university and one non-teaching staff were given NOC for contesting elections.” TNN

Officials in Prayagraj have issued directives to puja pandals to ensure fire security. These include obtaining a NOC from the fire department, using non-synthetic materials, leaving space for evacuation, and following specific dimensions for the pandals. Puja committees must also hire licensed contractors for lighting, have emergency lighting services, and no firecrackers will be allowed. Police will implement crowd control measures and utilize drone cameras to monitor security. CCTVs will be installed, and additional security forces deployed to maintain law and order.
