Quality Of Life: U-turn Now Permitted At City’s Laxmi Mandir Tiraha | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Barely 20 days after chief minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the city’s first signal-free traffic project at the Laxmi Mandir Tiraha intersection, the police administration on Monday demolished the newly constructed road divider at the tiraha and started allowing vehicles coming from the direction of Rambagh Circle to take a U-turn.
Sources in the police and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) disclosed that the decision was taken after a top police officer got stuck in a massive jam at the Barkat Nagar side of Tonk Phatak a couple of days ago.
“As per the new arrangement, vehicles coming from Rambagh Circle side can take a U-turn at this tiraha. We have fixed barriers to set up a specific lane for the vehicles to take the U-turn. Vehicles from the Rambagh Circle side won’t be allowed to take a right turn here. These vehicles will have to reach the underpass of the Tonk Puliya and then take a U-turn to reach the tiraha and from there a left turn towards Sahakar Marg,” said a police official.
Officials at the JDA said that the decision was taken in presence of JDA engineers in a meeting held recently.
