Rain Dries Up, Mercury Rising But Weather Pleasant For Now | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Rainfall activity receded in the state on Tuesday and a rise of almost 3 degrees Celsius on average was recorded compared to the previous day. However, at some places, including Kota, Baran, Jhalwar, Churu and Sikar districts, mild showers were witnessed.
Jaisalmer recorded the hottest temeprature in the state at 35.5°C, the Jaipur Met office said.
In other districts where rainfall started over the weekend and continued till Monday, the weather stayed cloudy but dry on Tuesday.
People in Jaipur woke up amid cloudy and cool conditions with a minimum temperature of 20.7°C recorded in the city. It was followed by a pleasant afternoon with max temperature at 32.4°C.
“Temperatures in Jaipur gradually rose on Tuesday. No rainfall activity was witnessed in Jaipur. However, cool winds and dust storms were witnessed during the evening in Jaipur,” the Met office said.
In its forecast, the Met office said that rainfall activity would fully stop from May 7. “From Monday next week, the mercury will take an upward course across the state and mainly clear skies would be witnessed,” said a Met department officer. He said that by May 7, climatic factors such as western disturbances and anti-cyclonic circulation would be over.
This week, though, rainfall activity with some dust storms will continue at regular intervals across the state, the officer said.
Except Jaisalmer, majority of the places in the state witnessed maximum temperatures of or below 35°C and minimum of or below 21°C.
