Rajasthan: 8 family members killed, 2 injured as marriage procession jeep hits truck in Barmer | Jaipur News

JAISALMER: Eight members of a family, including two children, died in a road accident while two persons were seriously injured when a baraat jeep hit a truck in Barmer district late on Monday night.
The jeep collided with the truck at Gudamalani Ram Ji ki Gol mega highway in the district.
The family was going from Jalore to Barmer.
After this accident, there was traffic jam on the national highway and the Gudamalani police reached the spot to clear it.
The truck driver fled from the spot and police are searching for him.

Barmer SP Deepak Bhargav said that a family from Sanchore in Jalore district left for Gudamalani in Barmer to take part in a marriage procession on Monday night.
Just 8 km before the destination near Bata Fanta, the car collided with the truck, in which it got severely damaged. The family members were stuck inside the vehicle.
After efforts for half-an-hour by people in other vehicles of the baraat and the police, six persons were pulled out, but they died on the spot while four were taken to the hospital. Two of them later died during treatment.
The SP said in this accident Poonmaram, Prakash, Manish, Prince, Bhagirath and one other died on the spot, while Mangilal and Budhram died during treatment. Two persons, who are seriously injured, are being treated in a hospital.
