JAIPUR: Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Tuesday expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of construction work of medical colleges in Nagaur, Banswara, Alwar and Hanumangarh.
While addressing the sixth meeting of the governing board of Rajasthan Medical Education Society (Raj-Mes) held at Directorate Medical Education Building on Tuesday, Meena said that the work of construction of medical colleges in the state should speed up so that it will be completed on time and multi-specialty medical facilities could be made available to the people in his area.
He said that officers concerned should hold regular meetings with the executive agency and ensure timely completion of the work.
He expressed displeasure over the delay in the construction of Nagaur, Banswara, Alwar and Hanumangarh Medical Colleges and instructed to complete the construction on time by increasing the pace of work.
In March, 2022, chief minister Ashok Gehlot had virtual laid foundation stone of medical colleges in Nagaur and Alwar. In the state, 30 districts have already got medical colleges, out of those, the work of some medical colleges is in progress. Aiming to setting up medical college in each of the 33 districts, the state government has demanded Centre for approval of medical college in three districts- Jalore, Rajsamand and Pratapgarh which are still left out.
For the implementation of the budget announcements, approval has been issued to start super specialty services in medical colleges operating under Rajmes.
