Rajasthan: Kin held for raping 4-year-old in Jalore | Jaipur News

JODHPUR/ JAIPUR: Police arrested a man, who raped his relative, a four-year old girl in her house at Leta village in Jalore on Wednesday evening. The accused has been booked under sections of Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act while the girl has been admitted to a hospital.
Kotwali police informed that the girl’s father in his FIR stated that their relative had visited them on Wednesday evening. “When the mother of the girl had gone to buy some grocery and the father was sitting in the porch area of the house, the accused entered into one of the rooms of the house and raped the minor,” said a senior police officer while quoting the FIR.
Hearing his daughter’s scream the father, expecting some mishap, went to the room and found the girl crying. After the incident the girl was profusely bleeding. The family took the girl to the hospital where they were told that she was raped, said the officer.
Talking to TOI on Thursday, Superintendent of police, Jalore, Harsh Vardhan Agarwalla stated that the accused was arrested within 2 hours of the incident from an agriculture field behind the incident spot. The accused is married and a daily wager.
“Seeing her condition, we decided not to waste time and referred her to a hospital in Jodhpur where all the preparations had been done in advance. As soon as she reached there, she was given the much-needed medical aid”, said Agarwalla, adding that her condition is better now.
On her admission to the hospital in Jodhpur, chairman of the Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Sangeeta Beniwal also inquired about the incident and gave necessary directions.
