Rajasthan: Narendra Modi should take forward Rajasthan canal project: Ashok Gehlot | Jaipur News
NATHDWARA: CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said PM Narendra Modi should get moving the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) examined in 13 districts of Rajasthan.
“I expect you to take it forward in the same spirit in which you had talked about this scheme before the elections in Tonk and Ajmer,” Gehlot said, sharing the stage with the PM when the latter laid foundation stones, inaugurated and dedicated to the nation projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore here.
Gehlot in his address also reminded Modi about the announcement which was made during the rally in Mangarh Dham of converting 50 state highways into national highways. He said railway work in Karauli is stuck.
Construction of Ratlam-Dungarpur Banswara rail line shoud also be started, he said, adding the work of Memo Coach Factory in Bhilwara has also stopped.
Gehlot said the distance between villages in Rajasthan is long and it costs a lot to provide facilities.
“Despite this we have provided very good roads and facilities. Earlier we were far behind Gujarat, but now we have moved ahead of Gujarat when it comes to road infrastructure,” the CM said.
Gehlot said Rajasthan has broadgauge across the state. “The railways has made us more efficient and because of our good governance,” the CM added.
