Rajasthan: Narrow escape for 5 as they fall in dry drain, video goes viral | Jaipur News

JAISALMER: A major accident was averted in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer city recently when five people — standing and talking on a stone slab — fell into a dry rain-fed drain in Baba Bawdi area.
The video of the incident that took place on April 7 went viral on Tuesday.
People from the nearby areas immediately took them out.
At Baba Bawadi area, Shrawan Choudhary has a puncture shop and in front of his shop runs a rain-fed drain which, these days, is lying dry and is covered with stone slabs.

On April 7, a few youths were standing and talking in front of the shop on the drain.

Suddenly, the stone slab broke and all of them fell inside it and a bike parked nearby too fell into the drain.
All suffered minor injuries and were taken out by people.
The video of this incident was captured on a CCTV camera.
The video has put a question mark on the construction work.

Shrawan Choudhary who fell into the drain said that on April 7 at around 9.30pm, he was standing with other people when the stone slab broke and all fell into it.
Near the spot, the rain-fed drain lies open and many incidents have taken place and many cattle have fallen into it.
These stone slabs often break as they are very weak.
“Earlier also once or twice vehicles had fallen into it,” he added.
