ALWAR/JAIPUR: Four days after a 15-year-old speech impaired girl was found bleeding on a flyover in Alwar with injuries on her private parts, police investigating the alleged ‘sexual assault’ on Saturday said the case was still wide open for probe from all angles.
Police were looking for corroborative evidences to reach a conclusion. On Friday, the police said that the girl’s medical reports have ruled out possibility of rape. TOI on Saturday spoke to senior authorities in the Alwar police to know the progress so far in the investigation. Tejaswini Gautam, superintendent of police, Alwar, said, “As said by us earlier, the girl’s medical report by a board of doctors says that her ‘injuries are not suggestive of any kind of penetrative assault’. Also, the girl while walking on the flyover was not even limping; she was seen walking properly. Still, we are not ruling out the possibility of sexual assault, but have no evidence so far to suggest it.”
The SP added, “Our teams are looking into different aspects, including the monitoring of CCTV footages and checking the girl’s movements prior to her being found on the flyover. We are yet to get an evidence that can take us to any concrete conclusion.”
Police said the girl’s medical report suggested that her “vagina and hymen are intact”. Gautam added, “The girl has not been able to tell much on the incident to her parents or the language experts dealing with speech-impaired children.” She added that different technical teams were examining multiple CCTV footages at different locations in Alwar where the girl was seen walking on her own.
(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
