JAIPUR: Senior officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have started an online campaign to spread awareness on corruption and to make people aware about their rights and options if they become victims of graft.
They have started circulating awareness messages with caricatures, punchlines and rhymes to make people aware of their rights under the campaign on various social media platforms. The messages are shared by the ACB officers to police and to those who are either complainants or witnesses in their cases. The messages are in Hindi and Rajasthani languages so that they can strike a chord with people and urge people to approach the ACB in case they become victims of corruption. TOI on Sunday spoke to the senior officers of ACB who maintained that the number of complaints through various platforms given by the bureau have increased and these messages are playing a key role in that.
“We have a team of cartoonists and content writers who have been voluntarily doing it for us. We just gave them a rough idea and they came up with fantastic caricature and punchlines,” BL Soni, Director General, ACB told TOI.
He added that after approval, these messages are sent to various social media platforms and other groups. “We want people to speak up against corruption and they should approach us without any hassles or fear,” Soni added.
“In every message, we are sharing our toll free number and WhatsApp number so that people can freely lodge their complaints. These messages are regularly sent to our WhatsApp group of officers, witnesses, complainants and district units,” he added.
One of the messages reads — “Rishwat Maange Aap Se, Kar Lo Batein Tape, ACB ke Daftar Main, Deo Bhai Chep” (If anyone asks you for a bribe, record his call, come to ACB office and submit it there).
