Raj’s Surbhi Appointed Vice-president Of Srfi | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Former international squash player from Rajasthan, Surbhi Misra has been elected as the vice-president of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI). For Surbhi, the director of Rajasthan Squash Academy, who is also coach of the Indian women’s squash team, the election to the national squash body is another laurel in her illustrious career.
Talking about the new task at hand, Surbhi, the founder of Surbhi Misra Sports Foundation which has produced many champions, said, “The post comes with a huge responsibility. I am grateful to the entire squash fraternity, especially our patron N Ramachandran, for reposing confidence in me by giving this opportunity to work for the betterment of squash. I will spare no effort to come up to their expectations.”
When asked how she will juggle the role of coach and administrator, Surbhi said both positions are different but being in this sport for more than three decades, she has seen both sides.
“As a player I have seen how the federation works. Now, as a coach I have worked with the federation which has given me deep insight into its functioning,” she added. As far as coaching is concerned, she says this new position will in no way affect her coaching assignments. Recently, she was appointed as convener of a committee constituted by the Raj Oly Assn for the redressal of grievances of women athletes. tnn
