Counting of votes for the Makrana assembly constituency started at 8 AM on December 3 and as per the latest updates from ECI website, Jakir Hussain Gesawat of the Indian National Congress (INC) is leading with 91541 votes against Sumita Bhinchar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who has secured 60859 votes.
The 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections in Makrana recorded an impressive voter turnout of 77.59%. In this election, Roopa Ram, the candidate representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured victory as the MLA from Makrana. He garnered 87,201 votes, narrowly defeating Jakir Hussain Gesawat of the Indian National Congress (INC), who secured 85,713 votes.
