Jaipur: The number of daily water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission touched 8,343 on Tuesday, the highest in a single day this financial year, a press release of the PHED said.
“Going by the district-wise figures, Jaipur district topped the list with 766 connections in a day, followed by Dungarpur (713) and Bhilwara (545,” said an official.
Officials said a total of 1,60,389 connections have been made in January and 8.40 lakh water connections have been installed in January under JJM spending Rs 675 crore. At present, 33,45,131families are getting water through taps in Rajasthan.
“Water connections reaching more than 8,000 per day under JJJM as a big achievement of the department. I have directed officers to increase it continuously,” PHED minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi said. tnn
