Road Mishap Victims: Children Pay Tribute To Road Mishap Victims | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Children from 45 schools paid tribute to road accident victims on the occasion of UN World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims at Jawahar Kala Kendra on Tuesday evening. About 400 children participated in the programme which was organised by city-based NGO Muskaan and other institutes.
Road safety experts, doctors, NSS volunteers and academicians got together to remember those who lost lives in road accidents and gave the message of saving lives and following road safety measures.Gold medallist Paralympian rifle shooter, Padma Shri Avani Lekhara, was special guest at the programme where experts elaborated on the fact that youngsters do not wear helmets and drive at high speed, which leads to grievous head injuries that often cause fatality or loss of bodily movement. Gayatri Rathore, principal secretary for tourism, art, literature and culture, was chief guest for the programme and launched a graphic poster. She said that families are ruined by young ones’ deaths and road accidents are very much preventable if people follow road safety measures.
