Jaipur: Wages to the tune of Rs 20 crore were pending, as on August 25, under chief minister’s rural employment guarantee scheme (CMREGS), as per data received from the state’s rural development and panchayati raj department.
A NREGA worker can opt for CMREGS after completing 100 days of work under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
As per the data, the anticipated payment under CMREGS was Rs 46.31 crore while Rs 26.31 crore had already been paid.
According to an official, technical errors like mismatch in the spellings of names of workers, account numbers and Aadhaar details, that the RajKosh pay-manager is unable to read, leads to delay in payments of wages. TNN
