Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Alia Bhatt jokes that Ranveer Singh’s character in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is just like her, ‘not the brightest’ |
Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh have kick-started the promotions for their upcoming movie, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani‘. Both the actors along with director Karan Johar were in Vadodara yesterday. They were at the Parul University. Alia was dressed as her character ‘Rani’ is a gorgeous pink and neon green chiffon saree, while Ranveer opted for an all-black look.
On stage, Ranveer was seen in interacting with the crowds.He spoke about his character Rocky and said, “He is not the brightest egg in the basket.” Alia quipped and joked, “Bilkul meri tarah (Just like me).” She joked about herself as Alia is often trolled for her IQ.
Ranveer further added, “But uska dil saaf hai, uska dil bahut bada hai (His has a big heart). He wears his heart on his sleeves. That’s what I really love about this character, uspe bahut pyaar aata hai (he is very lovable). He is a mama’s boy, and really loves his family. He loves fiercely and I really enjoyed playing Rocky. Now, when I watch the film, I feel so much love for him.”
This statement left the audience in splits. Alia had dropped some glimpses from the event, as she wrote, “and so it begins… #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani in Vadodara 💕”

After promoting their film at this event in Vadodara, the team was seen arriving in Delhi last night. Both Alia and Ranveer twinned in black as they were spotted at the airport getting into the same car.
‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is set to release on July 28. Directed by Karan Johar, it also stars Dhamendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi.
