RSS misguiding docs on RTH Bill as people continue to suffer: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot | Jaipur News

KOTA: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of misguiding the doctors against the Right to Health (RTH) Bill and inciting them to continue the strike while leaving the people to suffer.
“A lobby of the RSS is misguiding the doctors. They are gaddars. It is not the time for politics as people are suffering. Doctors should immediately end the strike,” the CM said, adding the gazzette notification of the RTH Bill hadn’t been issued yet and if there were doubts and confusion, it could be cleared.
Gehlot said two persons associated with the RSS had come from Delhi to meet him, but he directed them to finance secretary Akhil Arora. “But instead of meeting the finance secretary, the duo went to meet governor Kalraj Mishra. Soon after that, they interacted with a few agitating doctors and misguided them before returning to Delhi,” Gehlot told reporters.
Give up arrogance, end strike, CM tells docs
The CM appealed to the doctors to give up arrogance and end the strike. Gehlot said the suggestions given by the doctors to finance secretary were all agreed upon, but later a few of them associated with the RSS objected.
Gehlot said his government had increased the health insurance cover under the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh for the sake of people. “I’m proud that Rajasthan is leading in healthcare services and there is no such insurance scheme anywhere in the world,” he added.
At Kota airport, a delegation of doctors met the chief minister and told him about their reservations, especially the definition of evidence in Section-2 of the newly passed bill. Gehlot clarified their doubts and reiterated his appeal to end the strike.
