Rto Issues Permits On 27 New Routes For Minibuses In Jaipur | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The regional transport office (RTO) Jaipur on Friday started issuing permits on 27 new routes for public transportation approved by the state government.
Officials said that 40 permits will be issued per route in the city and private minibuses will ply on these routes.
“With the city expanding, there is a need for new bus routes. In March, we had written to the transport commissioner to start 33 new routes in the city, out of which we got approval for 27 routes. The idea is to increase connectivity to the outskirts of the city; now, we have started issuing permits to private minibus service providers or to eight-nine small seater vehicles. On Friday, three permits were issued and next week 20 more permits will be issued,” said Virendra Singh, regional transport officer Jaipur.
The bus routes will connect areas like Kanakpura railway station, Khirni Phatak, Kalwad Road, Shiv Nagar, Loha Mandi, Harmada police station. Another route will connect Poornima College to Patrakar Colony then Bombay Hospital, Akshaya Patra, NRI Chowk, Apex trijunction. Buses will also connect Sanganer stadium to RIICO Industrial area, Sanganer market and municipal corporation office, Govindpura Phatak, Gulmorhar garden among other places.
Singh said that last month, advertisements were issued for vehicle permits on these 27 routes, when initially the department got very less responses. “After 27 routes were approved, we issued advertisements twice. In the first time we got 20 permit requests and second time we got 40 more. Now we are expecting more requests” added Singh.
