Thespian Dilip Kumar’s opulent Mumbai bungalow may undergo a transformation, but his devoted wife, SairaBanu, has an unwavering dream of immortalizing his legacy through a museum. The cherished space will celebrate the extraordinary life and journey of the legendary actor, with Saira already possessing most of the precious items that will find a place within its walls.Excitedly discussing the project,Saira Banu shared, “As you know, I was completely mad about Dilip Saab, so you can imagine what all I want to keep there.”

When asked about the extensive collection, including costumes and personal belongings, Saira enthusiastically replied, “Absolutely, I have everything with me— not just the costumes, but all his personal items, including his writings, books, trophies, and much more that you will discover once the museum is completed.”

Reflecting on the earlier days, Saira fondly recalled, “You see, when I got married to him, he was a bachelor, and he hadn’t paid much attention to his belongings. Upon marriage, I asked him where all his things were, considering he was the most awarded man, but with young children in the house and no one to care for his possessions…”
She continued, “After our marriage, I made an effort to retrieve whatever I could because I was a star in my own right, and people were very kind to me. There were trophies that had been lost, so I requested the organizers, who generously made copies and gave them to me. We will meet and discuss further once everything falls into place.”
