Sambhar Lake: Sambhar Lake Civic Body Ofcr Held For Taking ₹1.25l As Bribe | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The ACB’s special investigation unit (SIU) on Monday arrested the chairman of Nagar Palika, Sambhar Lake and a middleman for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh. The bribe was demanded from a complainant seeking land deed for land he had purchased for residential purpose.
Hemant Priyadarshi, additional director general, ACB who has an additional charge of DG, ACB stated that a complainant approached the ACB headquarters on Thursday and stated that for the past eight months he has been visiting the Nagar Palika office of Sambhar Lake to get the land deed of nearly 260 sq. mt. land he had purchased for residential purpose. “He was asked to pay Rs 2.60 as bribe in lieu of getting the said paper. The accused Kishan Jangid, the chairman of the Nagar Palika, Sambhar asked the complaint to pay the bribe,” he said.
Based on the complaint the ACB team verified it and finally sent the complaint with bribe money of Rs 1.25 as his first installment of the bribe on Monday. “When he went to give the money the accused Kishan Jangid asked him to pay the money to middleman identified as Shailendra Chaudhary. After the bribe was accepted both Jangid and middleman were arrested by our team,” said Bajrang Singh, additional SP, ACB told TOI. ACB have registered a case under appropriate sections of Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused.
