Sanitation Workers: Over 11,000 More Sanitation Workers To Be Recruited In Raj |

Jaipur: The local self-government department on Friday issued an order stating that over 11,000 more sanitation workers will be recruited in the state after chief minister Ashok Gehlot approved the same. These sanitation workers will be recruited for 187 urban local bodies in the state.
On Thursday, the finance department had given the approval for recruitment of 11,772 sanitation workers in the state. This recruitment will be over and above the existing recruitment process of over 13,000 sanitation workers across the state. The direct recruitment will be done as per the Rajasthan Municipal (Sweepers Service) Rules, 2012. TNN

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has served a showcause notice to the private agency responsible for sanitation work. BMC officials have warned that if the agency does not resolve the issue, their contract may be withdrawn. The private agency is responsible for sanitation in 18 wards and employs around 700 sweepers. Not all sweepers are unhappy about the bonus issue.
Talks fail, MCG sanitation workers to continue stir
Sanitation workers in Gurgaon, India, are continuing their protest after a meeting with the MCG commissioner did not result in a positive outcome. The workers are demanding the reinstatement of 3,480 workers, regularization of workers, and the creation of more posts based on the city’s population. They plan to protest outside the house of a local MLA and the MCG commissioner. If their demands are not met, all workers, including contractual workers, will go on strike. The workers argue that the city’s population has increased, necessitating more sanitation workers.
