Sanjeev Kapoor: Cabinet Approves Retirement Benefits For Part-time Workers | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The state cabinet met under the chairmanship of chief minister Ashok Gehlot at the CM’s residence on Tuesday and took important decisions including approval of Rajasthan Part Time Contractual Hiring Rules-2023 and establishment of a Gem Bourse in Jaipur.
The council of ministers after the cabinet meeting expressed concern over the suicides of coaching students in Kota and discussed the power crisis in the state. It was said that the shortfall in power would be met by short-term tenders.
The cabinet also disccused the Vision 2030 plan and asked the departments concerned to give their suggestions at the earliest for it.
After the cabinet nod, part-time workers hired on contract will get a financial assistance package of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh at the end of their service or in case of death. The rules are also intended to bring transparency in the recruitment of part-time workers, said minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas while briefing the media about the cabinet decisions.
In the budget for the year 2023-24, the chief minister had announced the hiring rules for providing financial assistance on retirement to honorarium workers working part-time, like anganwadi workers, helpers, cooks, etc.
The cabinet approved a proposal to make available about 44,000 square metre of land at a reserve rate for the establishment and development of a Gem Bourse in Jaipur. This land will be allotted to the Jaipur Gem and Jewellery Bourse, a special purpose vehicle constituted for setting up the bourse on a 99-year lease at three times the industrial reserve rate.
It will give a boost to export of gems and about 60,000 people will get direct and indirect employment, noted the cabinet.
The name of the State Animal Welfare Board will now be ‘Amrita Devi State Animal Welfare Board’, the cabinet has decided, to honour the efforts of Amrita Bishnoi for the protection of animals and forests.
The cabinet decided to regularize 9 project directors of district women development agencies under the Rajasthan civil services rules, 1984. They will now be able to get salary, allowances and other benefits like state employees.
