Swept Away: 2 Brothers Swept Away In River In Kota | Jaipur News

Kota: A 35-year-old man and his 25-year-old brother were swept away into the overflowing Takli river in Kota district while fishing late on Thursday night. Efforts to trace and rescue them have remained unsuccessful. The incident took place near Dhani village under Chechat police station. Mahaveer Kavat, 35, and Bharat Kavat, 25, residents of the village, were swept away into the river when they were fishing along with about three co-villagers at around 10pm, said police. Water in the river suddenly flooded the banks and swept away the two brothers, and efforts by their companions to rescue them failed due to strong current of the water, said SHO Bannalal of Chechat police station. A State Disaster Response Fore (SDRF) team was called to the spot soon after the incident, but search operation could be started only on early Friday morning. The SDRF squad carried out searches, but failed to trace the two brothers. tnn
