Sarpanch Sangh In Kota Boycotts, Holds Dharna | Jaipur News
Kota: The Sarpanch Sangh boycotted the Mehangai Rahat camps and staged dharna outside the Zila Parishad office here with the demand to release funds for development work. Over 150 sarpanchs and village development officers boycotted the camps, said Moijuddin Guddu, president of the Sangh, at the dharna site.
The central government transferred Rs 1,400 crore to the state government last month for development works in gram panchayats but the fund was not yet released, Guddu said.
Meanwhile, chaos and mismanagement were witnessed at many places where the camps were held. Police had to distribute tokens for registration at the camp in Nayapura area of Kota city.
Extra police force had to be called at the camp in Nayapura area, where people became angry at officials leaving for lunch break and created a ruckus. As per information, 200-300 people reached the camp but only 100 of them were listed for registration tokens, which the police had to distribute eventually by queuing up the people.
In view of the heat at day time, the camp timings should be rescheduled into 2 phases, from 7am to 12 noon and 5pm to 8pm, said an official.
