Schools Closed: Schools Closed, Exams In Colleges Cancelled Due To Statewide Bandh | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Due to bandh calls across the state on Wednesday, schools remained closed and examinations in many colleges were cancelled. Many private schools in the city are likely to remain closed on Thursday too.
Officials from district education department said that keeping security of students in mind, some private schools in the city have decided to keep schools shut on Thursday.
Universities sent out notifications to students informing them that examinations will be postponed.
In Rajasthan University (RU), mid-term examinations that were scheduled on Wednesday was rescheduled to Thursday, but officials said that depending on the situation, a decision will be taken to conduct the examination. “We had an internal examination to be held today (Wednesday) but when students could not reach due to protests, we decided to reschedule the examination to Thursday. In case, the situation is still tense, a decision will be taken accordingly and students will be informed,” said SN Dolia, principal of University Maharaja College. Officials from Baba Amte Divyang University also said that examination scheduled on Thursday has been postponed.
“As we saw that the situation was worsening and could affect the safety of students, examination that was scheduled on Thursday has been postponed. Examinations will be conducted only when the situation is safe for students to reach the centres,” said Dev Swaroop, vice-chancellor of Baba Amte Divyang University. Schools and universities were also closed, with parents’ association in the city demanding for closure of schools for safety of students. Students were informed late night on Tuesday about schools being shut. A holiday was declared for teachers too.
