Jaisalmer: With Republic Day drawing close and a thick fog around the Indo-Pak border raising fears of intrusions, Border Security Force (BSF) is starting a week-long special exercise called ‘Operation Alert Sard Hawa’ in the border areas on Saturday.
Officers and jawans of all branches of BSF are taking part in this exercise, and additional personnel are being deployed in sensitive places, said a defence statement about this annual exercise. The entire security system has been made in four layers, and patrolling has been increased, it added. The exercise holds significance as drone intrusions are taking place continuously across the border. tnn
