Jaipur: As many as 18.05 lakh senior citizens and divyang voters will be able to get the facility of home voting as an option, said state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta on Thursday.
“As per instructions of the election commission, for the first time the option of home voting facility would be provided to senior citizens above 80 years of age and specially-abled voters with more than 40% disability. In these elections, 18.05 lakh voters are eligible for this facility,” said Gupta.
Gupta said the initiative with meant to ensure inclusive elections. “Under this, the booth level officers (BLOs) will go door to door and provide information about home voting option, If the eligible voters want to opt for it, they will have to fill and submit Form 12-D to the BLO within five days of issuance of election notification,” Gupta said.

Gadkari announces special hospital for senior citizens
A hospital dedicated to the elderly and people with disabilities will be opened in Nagpur, India, to provide diagnostic and treatment facilities at nominal rates. The hospital will offer lower prices for services such as MRI scans, CT scans, and pathology lab tests. The Jyeshtha Nagarik Pratishthan, a group of senior citizens, will manage and maintain the hospital. In addition, plans are in place to increase mobile eye and dental check-up and treatment centers. The initiative is part of efforts to improve healthcare for senior citizens in the region.

DUSU elections: ABVP urges students to vote for them
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is urging students at Delhi University to vote in support of them in the upcoming election on September 22. ABVP is confident that the students will cast their votes in favor of the organization, as they did in the inaugural election in 1973 when ABVP secured all four seats. Harsh Atri, Secretary of ABVP Delhi, expressed optimism that Delhi University students will choose to support ABVP and win all four seats of the DUSU election.
