Shefali Shah on ‘The Kerala Story’: It was about a woman; it was not about a religion | Hindi Movie News

Shefali Shah has been in the headlines for the film ‘The Kerala Story‘, which was produced by her husband Vipul Shah. The actor recently revealed that she got trolled for sharing the trailer of the movie and even asked whether she would play a part if given the offer.
While speaking to the media, Shefali said that she doesn’t have anything to do with politics. She normally gets a lot of love and respect on social media. She shared the trailer of it (The Kerala Story) and got trolled for it. People hated her overnight.
She further said that if she was offered it with evidence, why not? It is as important to be told as Delhi crime is. But if there was no evidence and if it was imaginary, she would be very wary of it. But she knows for a fact that there was; she has read the script, and she has gone through all those statements that have come from the government, so why not? And she would have played it even if it was a Hindu woman. According to her, it was about a woman; it was not about a religion; it was about terrorists.
‘The Kerala Story’ grossed more than ₹203 crore at the domestic box office after its release in May. Directed by Sudipto Sen and fronted by Adah Sharma. The movie shows how women from Kerala were forced to convert and recruited by the terror group Islamic State (IS). Apart from Adah, it also stars Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani.
