Showers, hailstorm continue in Rajasthan | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: Mild to moderate showers and hailstorm continued for the third consecutive day in the state on Monday. Mercury continued to dip and weather remained pleasant, with Banswara recording the highest temperature at 36°C, Met reports said.
In its forecast, the Met office said cloudy conditions will prevail and many places are likely to witness thunderstorm and hailstorm.
People in Jaipur woke up to a pleasant morning with a minimum temperature of 18.4°C, almost 6.7°C below normal. It was followed by a pleasant afternoon with a maximum temperature of 29.8°C, almost 10°C below normal. “It has been unusual so far for the past three days. Usually at this point of time, the maximum temperature in Jaipur goes above 40°C and minimum temperature is around 25°C. Good rainfall has brought a pleasant change in weather conditions,” said a Met officer. Rainfall of 7.6mm was recorded till 8.30am on Monday.
Many places in Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Kota divisions are likely to witness dust storm and rainfall in the next 24 hours, the Met office said. Also, there is a possibility of dust storm with a velocity of 30 to 40 kms/hour.
Most places in the state except Banswara witnessed maximum temperatures below 35°C. However, Met office said temperature will start rising from May 7. “The mercury will rise from May 7,” the Met officer said.
