Signalling System: Automatic Signalling Underway For 151km In Nwr | Jaipur News

Jaipur: To improve signalling system, automatic signalling process is being installed in over 151 kilometre (km) of tracks in north western railway (NWR).
Officials said that special emphasis is being laid on safety in train operations and strict adherence to prescribed procedures. In a review meeting held this week, Puneet Chawla, chief signal and telecom engineer of NWR directed officials to take all necessary steps for quick execution of various capacity building works approved for the year 2023-24.
A budget of over Rs 400 crore has been allocated to the signal and telecommunication department for safety enhancement and reliability improvement works during the financial year.
“In order to improve the line capacity and throughput on NWR this year, more than 151 km of automatic signalling is in progress. Simultaneously survey work of Kavach system has been started and tender has been invited for laying of OFC cables for a length of 3000 track kms as back bone of Kavach and long term evolution,” said Shashi Kiran, chief PRO of NWR.
