Smuggle Heroin: Bsf Foils Bid To Smuggle Heroin Via Pak Drone | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: The jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin through drones from Pakistan side by firing several rounds on the drone from Pakistan on the international border near Karanpur in Sriganganagar late Thursday night. They recovered 10.85 kg heroin in four packets worth Rs 53 crore. However, the smugglers who came to take its delivery managed to escape. Search operations are underway to locate the drone.

According to official sources of BSF Rajasthan Frontier, alert BSF jawans of 77th Battalion posted at BSF border outpost 24O on the international border adjacent to Karanpur on the intervening night of August 3-4 heard the sound of a drone coming from Pakistan. They opened fire on the drone and later recovered the consignment. The heroin recovered by the BSF will be handed over to the concerned agency for detailed investigation.
In recent times, continuous nefarious attempts are being made by Pakistan to smuggle drugs through drones from across the border, but BSF has been successful in thwarting several attempts. Recently on July 20, 2023, BSF jawans had recovered a Pakistani drone and 2.30 kg heroin at the Indo-Pak international border adjacent to Raisinghnagar.
