Speed Up Creation Of Unique Ids For Divyangs, Court Tells Govt | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The court of the chief commissioner for persons with disabilities has directed the department of empowerment of persons with disabilities, Government of India, and the commissioner for persons with disabilities, Government of Rajasthan, to integrate the state-run portal for persons with disabilities (PwD) with the Centre’s Swavalamban Card portal so that unique disability identity (UDID) cards for PwDs could be created.
The state government had earlier taken a decision to link both the portals. The move followed a directive from the department of empowerment of PwDs under the ministry of social justice and empowerment to the state government’s directorate of specially-abled persons to integrate the stater-run PwD portal with the Centre’s Swavalamban portal for issuance of UDID cards for PwDs.
Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh national vice-president Hemant Bhai Goyal had written to the Centre with a complaint about the delay in the linking of the two portals.
Earlier, in a letter to the additional director of the directorate of specially-abled persons, the chief medical and health officer (CMHO) of Sawai Madhopur district had sought detailed guidelines from the department for issuing UDID cards to PwDs who had applied for it on the Centre-run Swavlamban portal (Swavlambancard.gov.in).
The letter also cited the example of a specially-abled beneficiary who had applied for a UDID card through the central government-run Swavlambancard portal.
