‘state Govt’s Welfare Schemes Permanent, Not Poll-centric’ | Jaipur News
Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday said his government’s schemes were launched after studies were conducted to ensure benefitting the people and that they were not meant for election.
He said at a public meeting in Sikar district that his government’s aim is to serve the people and that it has been working for the benefit of every section of society. “The government has implemented welfare schemes such as Old Pension Scheme, Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, and Social Security Pension Scheme after conducting studies. These were not election oriented but permanent,” said Gehlot.
Accusing BJP of double standards, the CM said when Congress brings welfare schemes, BJP calls it ravadi but BJP terms similar schemes by its state governments as development.
“The state government aims at making Rajasthan the leading state of the country in every field. Everyone’s cooperation is needed to fulfill this objective,” he said, claiming that Rajasthan has become a leading state in education and health. “So far, 303 colleges have been opened during the tenure of our government. Universities have been opened in Sikar, Alwar and Bharatpur. The state government has decided to upgrade schools with 500 girl students to colleges to promote girl education,” he said.
Gehlot said former PM Manmohan Singh took “revolutionary” decisions to implement the Right to Education Act, the Right to Information Act and the Food Security Act. Similarly, the state government has also implemented the RTH Act for a healthy Rajasthan and has provided socioeconomic support to the people by increasing the amount of social security pensions, he said.
