State Went Out Of Its Way To Help Tailor’s Family, Says Cm | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said the government went out of the way to help the family of Kanhaiya Lal by offering jobs to both his sons. He said the government tried to give a healing touch considering the situation of the family.
“We decided in the cabinet meeting yesterday that both the children will get government jobs. It is our duty and I understand that this decision will increase the strength of the family in this time of grief,” said the chief minister.
He said now the government’s job is to fast-track the case and hand out exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of the crime. The chief minister was speaking to the media at Sanganer on the sidelines of a function.
He appealed to people not to be carried away by provocations. “I would like to appeal again to the people of the state that some people may instigate them, but we have to keep our great traditions alive, we should foster and live with love and brotherhood among communities,” he said. In reply to another question, Gehlot said the interest of the state government is to complete the ambitious Rs 37,000-crore Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) in a time-bound manner.
“We don’t want to do any politics on the ERCP. The central government is of the BJP and there is a Congress government in Rajasthan. If all work together, the project will be completed timely,” Gehlot said. He has been demanding that ERCP be given the status of a national project and accused the Centre of trying to obstruct it.
