Stray Dogs: Shrc Orders ₹5l To Family That Lost Baby To Stray Dogs | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC) has directed the state government to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to a family that lost a one-month-old infant to an attack by a stray dog.
RSHRC chairman Justice (retd) GK Vyas issued the order after taking suo motu cognisance of the incident based on newspaper reports. The infant was lifted from a ward of a government hospital in Sirohi and mauled to death by a stray dog on February 28.
The commission directed the chief secretary and ACS (medical and health) to ensure that the amount is paid to the family within two months. It also directed the authorities to act against errant employees at the hospital responsible for the gruesome incident.
The incident happened when the infant’s father was admitted to the TB ward of the government hospital on Abu Road. As his wife and three children, including the infant, slept in a ward, stray dogs got in because the door of the ward was left open by the staff.
