Suicide Attempt: Sms Doc, Who Attempted Suicide, Regains Consciousness | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The condition of Sawai Man Singh Hospital’s (SMS) 29-year-old female resident doctor, who had allegedly attempted to commit suicide, is improving.
She was brought to the SMS Hospital on Monday morning in critical condition. The doctors put her on ventilator support in the ICU.
She is a first-year resident doctor doing her PG in neurosurgery. “In the morning, we removed the ventilator support, and she is now on stable on oxygen support. Her condition has improved now,” said Dr Achal Sharma, medical superintendent, SMS hospital.
The doctor regained consciousness and met her parents. “She took few sips of water,” he said.
Without divulging much information, he said, “She might have probably consumed some sleeping pills. But, it is not confirmed. Our priority is to provide her treatment.”
She is still in the ICU and the doctors are keeping her under strict observation. “It is a good sign that she is now off ventilator and as her condition improves, we will give her food orally,” said the doctors. Reacting on death of a resident doctor from pediatrics and on the one who attempted suicide in past four days, Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors on Tuesday submitted a letter to Sawai Man Singh medical college principal and controller Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta raising the issue related to resident doctors.
