4 dead in Rajasthan as mother jumps into pond with three children | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: In a suspected case of suicide, a woman allegedly died along with her three children by jumping into a pond in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district.
Police said Friday the incident took place in Swaroopsar village in the Panchu area on Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as Naini Devi (32), her daughters Urmila (5) and Pooja (4), and son Bhavesh (1), PTI quoted sub-inspector Manoj Kumar as saying.
The incident appears to a suicide but the exact reason behind it is yet to be ascertained, Kumar said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman’s husband, father-in-law and elder son had gone to work in the nearby fields at the time of the incident, the SI said.
The bodies have been kept in the mortuary of the hospital for post-mortem, which will be conducted after the consent of their family members, he said.
The SI added that no case has been registered yet.
