Rivals take out roadshows to woo voters in Vidhyadhar Ngr | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: As the campaign for the state assembly election neared its end on Thursday evening, both BJP and Congress candidates in Vidhyadhar Nagar took out roadshows during the day to make a last-minute impact on voters. While BJP candidate Diya Kumari took out a roadshow in the company of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Congress’s Sitaram Agarwal took out his own convoy in a bid to reach maximum voters.
Supporters of Agarwal, who is known as a follower of Mahatma Gandhi, chanted “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Aa Rahe Hain Sitaram,” as he reached out to locals.
“In the last five years I have done developmental work of Rs 800 crore. I am always available among people 24 by 7 and 365 days,” said Agarwal while wrapping up his election campaign.
BJP’s Diya Kumari wooed women voters with promise of their safety, “If someone points a finger towards my daughter, sister or mother, they will have to face me first,” she said.
With Assam CM Sarma also campaigning for Kumari in Vidhyadhar Nagar, the Ram Mandir found prominent mention in his speech at a public gathering.
While Vidhyadhar Nagar is known to be a BJP stronghold, AAP is trying to leave a mark on the minds of voters. Going door to door, AAP candidate Dr Sanjay Biyani said that people of Vidhyadhar Nagar know very well of the struggles he has faced to reach where he has.
