BJP, Cong fail to persuade several heavyweight rebels
Both the BJP and Congress in Indore and Ujjain divisions have struggled to persuade rebels to withdraw their nominations as the deadline for withdrawal ended. Several heavyweight leaders have decided to contest as rebels, including senior Congress leader Antar Singh Darbar in Indore and former MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan’s son Harshwardhan in Burhanpur. In Ujjain, rebels Rajendra Singh Solanki, Lokendra Mehta, and Pratap Singh Arya are expected to give tough competition to the official candidates of both parties.

Ahead of the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, 39 dissidents, including two former MLAs, have been expelled from the Congress party as a result of a crackdown on dissent. These individuals, such as Prem Chand Guddu and Antar Darbar, are now contesting seats as Independents or on tickets offered by other parties. Some of the expelled members, including Kuldeep Singh Sikarwar and Pradyumn Verma, are running on BSP tickets, while RR Bansal has filed his nomination for Jatara.
