School buses ferry students flouting basic regulations
Pune RTO data reveals that a significant number of school buses in the city are not following basic regulations. Despite claims of continuous campaigns by RTO officials, this issue persists. Recently, a school bus accident highlighted the problem. Out of 340 buses checked by the RTO, 61% were found to be violating norms, such as operating without permits or without a staff member. Additionally, 69% of the 309 private buses checked were operating without permits. It is crucial to address this issue to ensure the safety of school students.
