Will Reopen 24 Intel Border Outposts: Dig | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: To strengthen security arrangements along the international border from Sriganganagar to Jaisalmer, there are plans to reopen 24 border outposts of the intelligence department that are lying closed.
DIG (crime branch) Rahul Prakash said drones are becoming a new threat. “The drones can fly with a payload of 8090kg and the state government and police are planning to deal with it. This is the reason to reopen the border outposts. A decision will be taken soon,” he said.
He added that local police and other agencies are making intensive efforts to check heroin smuggling. “A person was detained on Wednesday and he is being interrogated. Some part of the heroin consignment that we recently seized was sent to Sriganganagar smugglers but they managed to flee,” Prakash said. On Monday, police had seized 9kg heroin worth Rs 35 crore.
