Family Of Man Who Killed Self At Stir Agrees To Claim Body | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The family of a 48-year-old man, who allegedly hanged himself near a quota protest site in Bharatpur on Jaipur-Agra NH 21, on Friday agreed to claim the body following four days of deadlock.
The family of Mohan Singh Saini had been demanding that he should be given the status of a martyr along with other demands which the district administration said could not be met.
District administration officials, under the supervision of collector Alok Ranjan spoke with the family to convince them.
The family on Friday agreed to claim the body. The district administration said the body was kept at the mortuary and a post-mortem would be conducted soon. Mali, Kushwaha, Shaqya and Morya communities have been agitating for a separate 12% quota for themselves within 21% OBC reservation. The leaders said while the family has agreed to the cremation, the protest may still continue.
The body of Saini, a resident of Lalita Mudia village, was found hanging from a tree on the highway at Chah village near Aronoda on NH-21. Multiple talks were held with the family and the leaders of the agitation, but they could not find any agreement.
“The family was increasingly concerned about the body being kept at the mortuary for such a long time. So they agreed to claim it,” said an official.
Man drinks petrol at quota protest site: A 45-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he allegedly drank petrol in the protest in Arauda. Sources said Om Prakash Kushwaha, a resident of Uchain area of the district was taken to the hospital where his condition is stated to be normal.tnn
