JAIPUR: The state on Sunday witnessed record 18,298 Covid infections and 159 deaths taking the overall cases to 6,33,951 and casualties to 4,558 in addition to 1,89,178 active cases. Out of all the fatalities, Jaipur recorded 34 compared to 54 casualties on Saturday.
The situation across the state is alarming as the hospitals are full with Covid patients and a large number of patients down with severe to very severe symptoms. Patient parties are also having a harrowing time arranging beds for their kin or running all through the city for Remdesivir injection and oxygen. The state government has been blaming the Centre for taking control over the oxygen supply.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday urged BJP and its chief whip, opposition leaders and its MPs to urge the Union health ministry to supply proper oxygen as per requirements of the state having nearly 1.89 lakh active cases.
Hospitals continued to receive patients with oxygen needs while kin of patients kept trying to arrange a vial of Remdesivir injection and oxygen cylinders. Many hospitals in Jaipur and other parts of the state are left with no oxygen-enabled beds and ICU beds.
