JAIPUR: The Muhana police filed an FIR against many people for allegedly driving a 25-year-old charted accountant to commit suicide on Thursday.
SHO (Muhana) Lakhan Singh Khatana said that the deceased, Rakshit Khandelwal‘s family had filed a complaint and an FIR was registered.
As per the FIR, one Bhim Singh, through his driver, had filed an FIR against Khandelwal’s mother. Khandelwal’s father in his complaint to the police also alleged that his son was depressed for the past several days.
According to him, the major cause of Khandelwal’s depression was the allegedly false FIR filed in Bharatpur. The father had also named three other persons from Jaipur, and other unnamed persons, for his son’s suicide.
As per the FIR, Khandelwal jumped from the fourth floor of their apartment on Thursday early morning. The family has also told police that they had discovered a suicide note from Khandelwal’s pocket.
The Jaipur police said that they have filed an FIR under IPC Section 306 (Abetment of suicide). The officials said that the content of the purported suicide is under examination.
“The investigation is underway to ascertain the role of different persons named in the FIR,” the official added.
While the FIR has mentioned the case filed against the deceased’s mother as a major reason behind Khandelwal taking the extreme step, police said they were examining the antecedents of other persons blamed for the deceased’s suicide.
The police said that the deceased lived with his brother and parents in their apartment in Muhana. He jumped off the apartment’s building at 4 am on Thursday.
The police said that the family had handed over the suicide note which is now under investigation.
