Another NEET aspirant hangs self at Kota hostel | Jaipur News

Though the ceiling fan was equipped with anti-suicide device, the boy used the fan’s hook to end his life. This is the second suicide in last three days in Kota. Dhanesh Kumar Sharma was a resident of Khurja town in Bulandshahr district of UP.
He had been preparing for NEET from a coaching institute here for over a month now. The warden found the Class-11 student hanging from the hook of the fan and informed the police.
‘Homesickness and study stress’ likely behind suicide
The body has been kept in a mortuary as postmortem would be conducted after his parents arrive, said DSP Shankar Lal, who is the circle officer.
Prima facie, homesickness and study stress were the likely reasons for the extreme step by the boy. No suicide note was recovered from his room, Lal said. The hostel warden has told police that Dhanesh had his meal as usual on Wednesday evening and retired to his room, said Kunhari SHO Ganga Sahay Sharma, adding that when the boy did not respond to repeated calls of his parents, they sent another boy of their village, who also lived in Kota, to check on Dhanesh.
This village boy was taken to Dhanesh’s room by the warden and both of them found him hanging. On Monday, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant, Mohammed Nasid from Bengaluru, had jumped to his death from the 10th floor of a building at Vigyan Nagar.
With these two cases, the number of suicides by coaching students in Kota went up to seven since January.
