8k Get Loans Under Stand-up India In Raj Over Last 6 Years | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As many as 8,224 persons in Rajasthan have been sanctioned loans in the last six years (from April 1, 2016 to January 27, 2023) under the Stand-Up India scheme, which is 4.9% of the total loans (1,67521) sanctioned in the country, minister of state in the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar informed this in Lok Sabha on February 6.
The Stand-Up India scheme was launched by the department of financial services under the ministry of finance on April 5, 2016, and has been extended up to 2025.
“The objective of the scheme is to facilitate loans from Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) of value between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore to at least one SC or ST borrower and one woman borrower per bank branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise in manufacturing, services or trading sector and also for the activities allied to agriculture,” the reply stated.
“The scheme focuses on hitherto underserved segments of society understood to be facing significant hurdles due to lack of advice/mentorship as well as inadequate and delayed credit,” it added.
The reply stated, “Over the years, a hand holding ecosystem of different agencies has evolved for supporting prospective beneficiaries through financial training, skilling entrepreneurship development, work shed requirement, mentoring application filling, etc.”
“Stand-Up Mitra portal being managed by SIDBI provides a digital platform to support enterprises promotion among potential entrepreneurs from SC, ST and Women Category through handholding support at pre-disbursement and post- disbursement level.” TNN
